The V8 Hotel
If you're a car enthusiast and ever find yourself in Stuttgart, Germany for day or two (and let's face it, with Mercedes and Porche factories in the area it's a good place to be in the first place) may we suggest you check out the V8 Hotel.
Found near Stuttgart's Meilenwerk - a heritage protected airplane hangar from the 1920s which showcases a collection of historic automobiles - the hotel is a car-themed venue to be enjoyed by the whole family.
The hotel is one of a kind and is themed to everything automobile. It boasts 34 rooms, 10 of which are themed, including:
- AutoKino - drive-in movie with a Caddy bed
- V8 Camp - outdoors camping scene
- Racing - manufacturer logos and racers at the track
- Werkstatt - a garage with a Morris and mechanic's legs
- Carwash - old Benz with spinny-brushes
- Vision - by far the coolest with a turbine-like sleeping area
- Tuning - with racing buckets and a lot of tiger print
- Nostalgie - a junkyard
- Tankstelle - gas station with a Herbie
- and Motocycle - with an out-west Route 66 theme.
If, however, you find it weird being a big boy and sleeping in a car bed, the hotel can accommodate you in more adult rooms featuring a modern, design and feel.
On top of this the hotel and region posses a car themed restuarant, plenty of car-themed shops and, of course, an autmobile museum.
The themed rooms start at approx 170 Euros per night.
