Dumplings not only show up in cuisine round the globe, but also have their passionate fans, so why not hold a dumpling fest? That's what the small community of St Johann is doing to promote the wide variety of dumplings in Austria.
The dumpling is the western region's cuisine speciality and on September 20 the "longest dumpling table in the world" will be set up in St Johann for a dumpling feast.
A big variety of dumplings will be served on the 300-metre-long table including dumplings made from flour, old bread, potatoes and semolina.
Visitors will be able to test 23 different types of dumpling on offer. Organisers plan to serve about 25,000 individual dumplings.
