NOTICE - NZ Government Introduce Levy for all unpaid cruise bookings from 31 Dec 2015

A message from P&O Australia:

“Please be advised that the New Zealand Government is introducing a new Border Clearance Levy of up to NZ$26.22 for all cruise passengers (aged 2 years and older at time of sailing) arriving to and/or departing from New Zealand from 1 January 2016. This includes cruises from Australia which visit New Zealand as part of their itinerary but excludes all New Zealand domestic itineraries.

“The Government is imposing the new levy on any existing bookings not paid in full by 31 December 2015 and any new bookings made from 1 January 2016 on applicable cruises. Bookings already paid in full are exempt from the levy.

“P&O Cruises is committed to the New Zealand market with a 5 month season in 2016 and again in 2017. As the only cruise line to home-port from New Zealand, this makes it too high to absorb the cost of the passenger levy, which is being imposed retrospectively, on existing bookings.

“If you have any affected bookings, you will receive a second email from P&O with specific details for each of your bookings.”

If you have an booking that you would like to pay in full before 31 December, call your Ucango Travel & Cruise Consultant on 1300 822 646.
