Rome being cleaned up for Bond Shoot

Italian officials have promised to remove rubbish and graffiti from the streets of Rome before Daniel Craig arrives to shoot scenes for the new James Bond movie.

The latest installment in the superspy franchise, Spectre, is currently being shot at various locations around Europe, and the crew is due to head to Italy to film scenes in Rome later this month.

An Italian blog cast doubt on the Bond shoot by publishing pictures of the rumoured filming locations, showing many of the sites strewn with rubbish and spray paint, and campaigners urged city officials to clean up the streets.

Spokeswoman Lucia Ritrovato has now confirmed Mayor Ignazio Marino is keen to make changes before the Bond crew lands in town.

She's told The Independent newspaper, "It has to be done and we'll absolutely do it in time, working with the film production people, the council and the government."
