Well we've all been thinking it, but now it's official: the seat-kicker is now officially rated as the #1 most annoying co-passenger on flights.
Expedia has just released their 2015 Airplane Etiquette Study, which asked study respondents to chose from a list of annoying behaviors.
Here are the results:
- 61 percent of 1,019 Americans surveyed said that 'Butt-Kickers' are the worst.
- 'Inattentive Parents' who show little control over their children came in second at 59 percent.
- Third in the list was the 'Aromatic Passenger' who smell less than desirable, with 50 percent of the vote.
Other annoying behaviors to note are "The Boozer", coming in at 45 percent, "Chatty Cathy" at 43 percent of the 'most annoying' vote.
Expedia say their findings show a market preference for peace and quiet, with three quarters of people saying that although small talk is 'fine', they do prefer to keep to themselves for the majority of the flight.
Interestingly, the top three worst passengers were also a strong feature in Expedia's 2014 study...meaning either behaviors aren't changing, or simply that we're still at the same tolerance level as losing the seat lotto and being stuck next to - or in front of - these people. But can you blame us?
