Harmony of the Seas review by Kate - Ucango Travel Consultant
Harmony of the Seas is a really clean and functional ship, I endeavoured to see every part of her and it was made easier by the fact that they had everything open for tastings and inspections.
The two purple slides that run from the top down to the atrium are not water slides; they are just regular slides (The Ultimate Abyss). They are really fun! We were one floor below the launch pad so sometimes if the elevators were busy we would go up and take the slide down instead. The Wave Riders are impressive, they have two, one is for surfing and one is for boogie boarding. We tried the surfing one, it was really hard because the ship was turning at the same time. Balancing was tricky but all in all a really fun, and it was very entertaining watching others try it out as well.

They have so many activities mini-golf, basketball courts, table tennis, zip-line, air hockey...the list is endless.
Once you take the slide down to the Atrium there is the rock wall, we had a go and it was hilarious. You can go at the same time and race or you can go one at a time and watch each other. They have an automatic relay so there is no one there to catch you, it just automatically picks up when your weight drops against it.

Restaurants: Most of them are specialty restaurants. So even though they have a lot of variety they aren’t necessarily included in the fare. We didn’t have to pay for anything on board ourselves but it could add up if you did a few nights at the specialty restaurants; Jamies Italian, Wonderland, Sabor, Izumi, Chops Grille,Vintages.

My favourite was one called Wonderland, it is Alice in wonderland themed and it is experiential dining. Paintbrush menus, smoking dishes etc. It was a really impressive space and restaurant. It looks out over the atrium and has beautiful windows that extend over two floors. You can go to the bar area here for a drink, and aperitifs if you wanted to just see the space.

We ate at Silk the main restaurant and our meals were excellent – great value. They had a huge variety of food and it was cooked and served to the same quality that we would get on land.
There are two main pool areas, one allows kids and one doesn’t. The Solarium is adults only and it’s at the front of the ship, it has great views and is all about relaxation. The main pool (Pool Deck) is all fun, live music and water slides. It was quite lively and people really just lay out drinking and tanning.

We went to a few shows, we watched the Grease Musical, the Ice Skating show and the aqua show. Both theatre shows were shortened versions of the Broadway versions, but still great value and heaps of fun. The Grease musical was the most fun and had all the songs to sing along too. We went to see the aqua show in the aqua theatre. It isn’t finished yet with the choreography so it may improve a bit. To be honest it was a bit strange, but I think kids would love it.
Rooms: Ours was an interior balcony which is one of the more affordable room types, and it was massive! It was really well designed and all the space was used really well so functional with good shelves, drawers etc. The showers are just a flat walk in, so they are great for elderly passengers as there is no step up into the shower. We had a little couch and bar. It was a really good room overall.
The atrium is noisy but the doors sound proof, however the shows go until after midnight in the Atrium, so you would prefer a quieter space I would suggest the ocean side if you’d like to have the door open at night.

Conclusion, I think this an amazing family ship.
