Let's share with you the highlights from our recent ship inspection on Queen Elizabeth, a Cunard ship.
*Spoiler alert* We absolutely loved it!

FUN FACT “What is the origin of the word 'posh’?” our guide asks us. She then goes onto to explain (as no one is quite sure), “The story goes that the more wealthy passengers on ships travelling between England and India used to have POSH written against their bookings, standing for 'Port Out, Starboard Home'. Those POSH passengers had the more desirable cabins, and would enjoy the soft morning sun and move cabins every afternoon to the other side of the ship to avoid the harsh afternoon rays.”
Thank goodness for air-conditioning these days, can you imagine changing cabin rooms over every afternoon?

The spectacular Cunard Queen Elizabeth began her illustrious sailing career in October 2010 and continues to provide the highest level of service and luxury for its travellers.

We were lucky enough to view a Princess Grill Suite - as seen above. A lavish 513 square feet, complimentary bottle of wine and spacious balcony, plus Grill guests dine at a reserved table in the single seating Princess Grill Restaurant.
TRIVIA As the second largest ship in the Cunard fleet, a staggering 86% of cabins on Queen Elizabeth have an ocean view. With over 70% of those cabins featuring a balcony, it's now even easier to experience the wonderful sea views all from the comfort of your own cabin.
Cunard Queen Elizabeth offers a number of spa and fitness options for you. Hone your body on your sailing with a delightful spa treatment or by keeping fit and working up a sweat at one of Cunard Line’s fitness classes or in the gym.
In the Royal Spa you are spoilt for choice with a great range of indulgent treatments available in the sea-view rooms that include reflexology, facials and massages.
The Royal Bath House is a social area with a hydrotherapy pool and thermal suite with saunas and heated ceramic loungers - as seen above.

Cunard Line is also known for its cuisine – and it is recommended to treat yourself to the Lobster Newberg at the Queens Grille and the decadent Cambridge Burnt Cream Tart at the Britannia Restaurant.
Using refined ingredients and sophisticated techniques, the chefs working on Cunard Line’s ocean liners offer magnificent cuisine that will leave you stuffed every night. The food is complimented by classic service.
We were lucky enough to indulge in a delicious three course lunch after the inspection. The chefs went above and beyond to cater for my gluten-free dietary requirements, ensuring I had access to the meals options of everyone else.
